“While making this piece, I was interested in the idea of a composition that included a light colored shape against a dark background. I wanted to communicate a strong and interesting contrast while maintaining an overall focal softness. I wanted the envelope and letter to have a glow to draw the viewer in and pique their interest, recreating the exciting feeling of receiving a letter in the mail.”
