“I make copper plate etchings that are inspired by stories and poems. Using different processes in printing to turn initial ideas and sketches into something more layered and sculptural, such as using acid to expose accidental marks alongside intentional lines when biting plates, and using aquatint to create even blocks of tone. Underlying this approach is an enjoyment in making and a desire to find patterns, to connect or make new associations with the source material.”
