“My house on the gulf coast of Florida USA provides a front row seat to climate related destruction. The plants, particularly a large banyan tree, are precious and endangered. This painting was created before the most recent hurricane that stripped the banyan of leaves and many branches. The banyan is resilient and is gradually recovering. In this painting, the people in the tree make me think of how humans have coexisted with nature for millennia. The robot represents both a kind of progress and a threat. Will machines take over as our natural home and perhaps humanity itself is destroyed?”
