Bucaneve is part of a series of works on which I have been working for several years. Inspired by what I saw during a trip to Namibia that took place a few years ago. Since then I have focused on themes related to the desert landscape, conceived as a post-Anthropocene scenario.

The aridity of the landscape is conveyed through a dense and dehydrated pictorial surface. Employing a slow and reflective method, I convey the temporal dimension by highlighting small, sketchy elements, erasures, and reconsiderations – in other words, traces of the creative process.
As the work progresses, I gradually tend to abandon the initial images, allowing a new scenario to emerge from the painting itself, revealing its autonomy.”
