“In my larger-than-life botanical art I invite the viewer to examine philosophic paradoxes. I wield my colour pencils as if they were hammer and chisel, documenting decaying nature, in a highly aesthetic and realistic manner, yet, at the same time, in an expressionistic technique.
My background in graphic design has made me cherish the virginity of the white of paper and the monumental strength that comes with it.
I hunger for expressing beauty in what others might consider reprehensible ugliness and might even want to destroy.”
