“I find the most important aspects in a landscape are the sense of place along with the feelings of presence and absence and capturing all of these for me are the most important factors within the paintings. I aim to convey the feeling of human presence and interaction within the works without the direct inclusion of figures.

Along with this the paintings all have their own narrative, at times belonging to a larger group of works. in this painting the distant water tower hints to a distinct place and something beyond the everyday in which its set. I hope to contain that element of mystery within the works but at the same time almost achieve the initial look of an everyday place.”
