“The Defenders series. I look around and see only dreams! There is no faith, no plans, and no time… But, there is a dream and it is so magical. I once created a project called Dreams where a theme was centered around a rose-colored fabric. In 2022, the year of the full-scale invasion, I began painting black and charcoal-coloured textiles next to the rosy fabrics. The pale red and dainty fabrics represent my hopes, while darker linens are my sorrows and woes. These series are heavily infused with heartache – a feeling of a leaden, slow-paced existence that is a sharp contrast to the heart-pounding and fierce rhythm of life that marked the first, vehement year of the war. And yet, despite ongoing anguish, Dream and Hope – my faithful guardians still stand, unshaken, determined never to forsake these lands.”
