“I make narrative drawings and paintings inspired by nature and human experience. My work is rooted in drawing in sketchbooks from life and from my imagination, where I gather observations and memories to form transient scenes that traverse the boundary between the physical world and that which lies beyond it.
After graduating from my BA in Drawing and Print in 2020, I was a companion and carer to my Mum who had terminal cancer. She was given two years to live and all through my teens and early twenties; she lived for a defiant eight years. My recent work is inspired by her and is centred around women, their relationships, and intimate shared spaces. The images I make act as windows into an acutely ephemeral world, while the female figure is a strong and defiant presence within it.”
