“For me, painting is the most versatile of all visual media. It opens up endless possibilities for creativity and expression. At the same time, it challenges me because it constantly forces me to reflect on myself: on my perceptions, my ideas and decisions, on my courage as well as my hesitations. This inner tension gives rise to a vitality that makes me feel connected to the world and its manifestations. For me, painting is always an attempt to capture reality in an image. People are at the center of my work. My interiors, as well as views of buildings or improvised dwellings, refer directly to people’s living conditions, their inner states and cultural influences. A space – whether inhabited or abandoned – often tells us more about its inhabitants than their visible form. Spaces are condensed biographies. They reflect inner worlds and bear the traces of experiences that are invisible yet palpable. Beyond pure visual enjoyment, painting makes visible what cannot be put into words. When a space of resonance arises between the painting and the viewer, I am always amazed by the wonder of painting. In that moment, it becomes a bridge: between inside and outside, between me and the world.”
