“An absolute treat for the eyes, Florence’s Palazzo della Gherardesca is wall to wall opulence, loaded with exquisite details. My mind was absolutely blown by this vitrine of history and culture.

I was struck by the atmosphere of the space both energetic and calm. wanted to capture the soft light flooding in and decided this would be best represented by the glitter of glue sized canvas peeping through the surface, then utilising the opacity of my paints to describe the forms in layers of drawing replacing the ornate details with simple descriptive marks. I want the piece to have a rhythm, Shouts and whispers, melodies and silence. Harmony and discord.”
