“Once home to 16th-century blast furnaces, Furnace Wood has long since been reclaimed by nature. In spring, the heady scent of wild garlic hangs in the air, while bluebells carpet the woodland floor. This hidden spot in the East Sussex High Weald is now more befitting of fairies than forgers, so I wanted to transport the viewer into this magical setting.”
