We Must Go To The Hairdresser At All Costs Today

Jackson's Painting Prize 2022
Charcoal, Oil, Oil Stick
Canvas
100 x 80 cm

“Another painting inspired by everyday life, seeming to stem from a soliloquy. Someone is urging him or herself to go to the hairdresser today. In which situations does such an idea come up? There are days when you look in the mirror and are dissatisfied, to say the least. There are days when you feel something needs to change and you start with the hairstyle. Everyone can think of more examples. The work consists in parts of ideas, of small sketches and notes that add up to a light, playful whole. Drawn with oil paints and various pencils, the piece is playfully quirky and funny.”
