Anja Höppner
Anja Höppner lives and works in Bremen, Germany. After working as a graphic designer in advertising agencies and already during her independent work as an advertising graphic designer, she has devoted herself to printmaking since 2011. Since 2021, she has been a member of the German Professional Association of Fine Artists and, since 2022, she has worked exclusively as a freelance artist. She regularly exhibits and serves as an intermediary in print techniques. Her artistic practice focuses on people and their complex emotions and movements. With the help of multi-layered textures and nuanced color overlays, she creates works that captivate the viewer and transport them into an emotional depth. She primarily works in intaglio printing and has developed an environmentally friendly process that works without turpentine. Three key elements characterize her work: a passion for experimentation, a love of craftsmanship, and the joy of storytelling. Driven by curiosity, she continuously explores new techniques and materials to further develop her artistic language. She draws inspiration from everyday life, dance, movement, literature, and film.
