Chris Chernow

Chris Chernow is a painter living and working in the Washington DC area.  Chris focuses on the human figure and the emotions that can be created with line, palette, composition and texture.  A majority of her work is oil on canvas.  However, she has begun experimenting with water-soluble graphite drawings on paper or on linen, which are then presented as paintings on stretcher bars.Chernow studied at the Corcoran College of Art and Design where she took extensive drawing courses.  She is a member of Studio Gallery in Dupont Circle, an artists’ co-op of over 35 artists.
