Evan Lovejoy

Evan Lovejoy is an oil painter fascinated by animals, currently residing and painting in London, England. His work reflects the varied ways in which human beings understand, or rather misunderstand the fellow animals we share the planet with. In this way each painting represents a “study” of a single animal, stripping down form and texture, describing a misunderstood anatomy and behaviour.

Lovejoy studied oil painting in Florida where he was exposed to a variety of exotic animals while working at zoological gardens and with veterinarians during his studies. He has shown paintings both in the US and UK.
