Grace is primarily a figurative painter, exploring subjects of everyday life, relationships and memories. Her work uses often uses drawings and found images to translate emotion and feeling through oil paint, where she continues to create a world for her figures to exist within, and to provide a sense of presence and intimacy. In the past year her work has further explored the materiality of paint combined with storytelling and narrative, focusing on in-between spaces and modern life. Colour, light and form create the foundations of her practice, as she constantly challenges how formal qualities can reflect the beauty that exists in overlooked spaces.
