Heidi Fuchs

Fuchs studied painting in college but followed a winding road that led to an unartistic career. In 2019, she started spending painting outdoors in her spare time. Her plein air paintings record the energy of ephemeral events: fleeting encounters with birds and animals, brief seasonal highlights, and the vagaries of drought and flood. She works quickly to express the feeling of a moment, having learned that the most beautiful scenes are the shortest lived.
