Jo McChesney
Jo McChesney graduated from Bath Academy of Art specialising in illustration for her degree, during which time she was selected to study at the Cooper Union School of Art New York, she went on to study for an MA in printed textiles. Later after a career involving free lance design in illustration and part time lecturing, her interest in print inspired a trip to Kyoto, Japan to study the traditional technique of woodblock printmaking.
She draws upon the natural world for her inspiration. Her prints focus on ordinary transient moments in time such as ripples on water, seeds in flight made more vivid, to changing light caught in woodlands from layers of looming fog to starkly lit high contrast trees.
