John Singletary

John Singletary is a visual artist and musician born near Chicago, Illinois, and specializes in mediums of oil paint and charcoal. He earned his BFA in Fine Arts at Baylor University in Waco, Texas in 2016 and is now getting his MFA in Visual Arts at UC San Diego. In 2021, he had work exhibited on the cover of TIME magazine, and work included in the MoMA’s “Greater New York” exhibition. In that same year, John was awarded the prestigious Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant. He was an Artist-In-Residence at the Woodstock Byrdcliffe Artist guild in 2018 for his art and music, where he received a Pollock-Krasner Foundation grant. He previously worked in New York as an art teacher for students k-12, and now teaches undergraduate students at UCSD as he pursues his Master’s degree.
