Kate Giles
Kate Giles is a contemporary painter and printmaker.She studied at Camberwell and Falmouth Schools of Art.Having grown up in Norwich she returned to live and work in Norfolk in 2015.Known for her East Anglian landscapes,she works in oil on linen,panel and paper, often in series, ranging from large canvases to small works on board. Working intensively on the spot,drawings then fuel the groundwork for all later work in the studio.She has shown widely in East Anglia,London and internationally in many solo, group and open exhibitions.Her works held in collections both in the UK and abroad. Recently she has shown with Christopher Kingzett [LAF] and Davina Barber [solo at Delahunty Fine Art] and with Barber/Lopes at BAF,Messums and Flowers gallery.Also with EAAF and NCAS . In 2017 her work was shown in Tate /Aspire’s ’Constable in Context : ’Salisbury Cathedral across the Meadows – in Perspective’ at Salisbury Museum [with Kossoff,Creffield,Turner and Constable]. she was Festival Artist for the 63rd Aldeburgh festival for Music and the Arts 2010.She has been shortlisted twice for the Threadneedle Prize;Lynn Painter Stainers;Discerning Eye;RA Summer Show amongst others.
