Katherine Lees

Katherine Lees is an artist living and working in Mistley, Essex. She studied art in Cambridge and in London, at Chelsea School of Art, where she completed a BA Hons in Graphic Design. She worked full time in advertising in London for 13 years as an art director on blue-chip accounts such as British Airways and Volvo. Kath left London for Mistley in 2001, becoming self-employed as a graphic designer specialising in brand identity. At the same time she founded Two Towers Press, a small independent publisher, for whom she has created 6 books, designed and illustrated by herself. She has painted throughout (since leaving advertising), doing portrait commissions, and more recently other work. She has exhibited locally in Essex, in London, and most notably in New York. Her work is in private collections, mainly in the UK, and USA. She has recently become a member of Colchester Art Society.
