Krzysztof Kowalski

Krzysztof Kowalski is a self taught watercolorist based in Poznań, Poland. He started painting with watercolors in 2012. The main theme of his paintings is flowers. He is amazed by the diversity and richness of their shapes and colors. He thinks that nowadays we surround ourselves with walls, we live in concrete cities forgetting about our connection with nature. Through his paintings he wants others to spend a moment on contemplating the beauty of nature.

In 2016 five of his botanical paintings referring to Maria Sibylla Merian’s artwork were exhibited during the Museums at Night 2016 event in the Gdansk Library, an auxiliary scientific unit of the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences in Gdansk. At the beginning of 2019 he decided to make a career of his passion and he launched his Online Watercolor School. Soon after that an interview and his works were published in the Artysta i Sztuka – Polish art magazine.
