Laura Darling

Laura Darling is an artist and writer from Brighton, Sussex. As a landscape artist, she uses oil paint and mark making in charcoal and pencil to capture atmosphere, space and silence.

She is drawn to northern light and the pared back field and boundaries of the South Downs, exploring the bones of the land below, the feeling of the weather above and the paths that people make.

She’s also interested in the domestic landscapes that still life creates, collecting small unshowy objects to tell a story about the people they belong to.

She exhibits in Sussex and London and has recently graduated from the Art Academy in London where she studied painting. She belongs to the 7Dials Artists and Makers Community and the Fiveways Artists Group in Brighton
