Lauren O’Connell

Lauren O’Connell is a New York born and raised emerging fine artist, currently residing with her family in North Carolina. She primarily works with oil pastels and paint and is continuously experimenting with new ways to expand upon her mixed media approach of creating colorful figurative scenes inspired by everyday life. Lauren received a BFA for illustration at Savannah College of Art & Design, and an MFA at School of Visual Arts for Computer Art. Upon graduation, Lauren transitioned into the design world, becoming a motion designer and art director for editorial and branded content media. After almost a decade within the commercial space, Lauren reignited her love for fine art this last year, through a newfound perspective in her work that only time and the lived experience could provide. She has humble hopes of being invited to her first exhibition and transition from designer to professional artist in 2025.
