Born and raised in London, Maddy Buttling graduated with a first in BA Fine Art from Chelsea College of Arts in 2020. Since then she has trained with both Turps Art School and The Royal Drawing School. She won the animal category of Jackson’s Painting Prize in 2020 and the Holly Bush Figurative Painting Prize in 2021. She has shown work at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and the New English Art Club, and was awarded a place on Acme’s UAL Associate Studio Programme in 2022. Maddy is currently taking commissions, working from her north London studio.
