Michele Marcoux
Michele Marcoux lives and works in Edinburgh, Scotland. She grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, USA, living in California and NYC before moving to Scotland in 1990. She received a BA Fine Art from Bennington College, Vermont, and the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia (cum laude), completing a Masters of Letters Fine Art Practice (with Distinction) at Glasgow School of Art in 2016. In 2024, Michele was awarded an RSA Residency for Scotland taking place on the Isle of Lewis in 2025. She also had a solo exhibition, Eternal Return at the Scottish Arts Club, Edinburgh. She received a Connect and Collaborate grant from the British Council (2021-22) for Ecologies of Displacement, a residency connecting artists in Scotland and Pakistan. She spent a month travelling in Pakistan and had exhibitions at Koel Gallery, Karachi and Summerhall in Edinburgh. In 2021, Michele received a Creative Scotland Open Fund grant supporting her residency at Merz Gallery in Sanquhar, Scotland. In 2022 this work was shown as Storyforms, at Patriothall Gallery, Edinburgh. In 2019 Michele was one of 6 international artists selected for a residency at The Museum of Loss and Renewal, Collemacchia, Italy. She exhibits her work in Scotland and London.
