Nikki Johnson

Born in Liverpool in 1971, Nikki studied drawing and painting at Liverpool Polytechnic, with a year dedicated to life drawing. A move to Staffordshire to study Fine Art, led to a 20-year career at the University library, highlighting resources and collections through commissions and projects. In 2015 she left the University to development her creative practice. Volunteering on community art and gardening projects led way to commissioned art events and workshops, with more focus on studio practice in recent years. Using a variety of source material through the medium of drawing, painting and printmaking, the essence of everyday observations merge with memory becoming entwined as the pull and push of the materials moves the narrative into a different direction. She has exhibited locally in group exhibitions and is yet to exhibit nationally or internationally, selling work to private collectors.
