Patricia Thornton
I am from the UK and currently based in West Sussex. I studied at Reigate School of Art on a 2 year Foundation. In 1980 I created Cicada Jewellery with my partner Nick Orsborn working in resins. My work is held in the V&A Museum London.
I then studied for a BA in Art History at Sussex University and a PGSE at Brighton University.
I taught on the Foundation at Northbrook College 1995-2006 and completed an MA in Sequential Illustration at Brighton University 2006/2007.
Since then I have been working solely on my own practice.
I print at Volcanic Editions Brighton www.volcanic-editions.org
Achievements include Shortlisted for the Jerwood Drawing Prize 2013
Shortlisted for the Trinity Buoy Wharf 2019.
I have also been selected for the ING Discerning Eye
several times.
