Peter James Houghton

Peter is a self taught acrylic painter, originally from Blackburn, Lancashire, now based in Salford. For the last five years he has built up a body of work of urban landscapes, world building bleak, silent, post-apocalyptic streets and neighbourhoods as a counter reaction to the overwhelming chaos of life and the artifice of phone screens people view it from. In 2024 he won the RBSA Prize in Birmingham with his painting of The Birtles shopping precinct in South Manchester.
