Richard McRae

Based in the suburbs of south east London, Richard has been painting for over forty years. He works in a variety of media but always returns to oil painting as his central calling. Although he studied at Central Saint Martins School of Art and Design he is mostly self taught when it comes to actual painting techniques. Richard draws inspiration from huge chunks of the canon of Western Art History and it would be foolish to suggest that any one practice is solely responsible for how his work currently appears. Though if you know your art history, both contemporary and further back in time, you might have some insights.
