Rufus Filmer
Rufus Filmer is an artist and teacher living and working in Canterbury, UK. His work depicts figures, often human, painted in imagined or contrived environments. Filmer is inspired by a painting’s ability to present a fleeting second or moment of flux through a medium characterised by considered progress and contemplation. Filmer gained a First-Class degree in Fine Art at UCA where he specialised in painting before going on to teach Art in a nearby secondary school. He produces paintings in his studio and has sold original work and portrait commissions internationally.
