“I carved this print directly following a trip to Japan where I studied the process of woodcut. Images of the water gardens in Kyoto were fresh in my mind. My ideas are directly inspired by nature. I was working on images of water and reflection and tranquility. I wanted to capture the reflected lurching shapes of the leaves on the moving waters surface.”
