“I am a visual artist working in the mediums of oil painting and mixed-media sculpture. My practice is informed by an interest in museology, nature and the act of collecting. My most recent work explores the significance and potency of natural and historical artefacts whilst also examining historical and contemporary attitudes towards the preservation and representation of nature. My research process involves an ongoing accumulation of photographic documentation collected at museums around the world and an abundance of bric-a-brac and natural curios gathered and scavenged over many years. Using this eclectic collection of material I develop and curate paintings and three-dimensional works which can be exhibited in interchangeable formations and which allow historic, current and imagined examinations of nature to sit together.”
