“Evening Embers is an exploration of the warmth felt through nostalgia. The experience of nostalgia has been seen to not only have a comforting impact mentally, but also a physical warming effect, so it can have very overwhelming yet soothing impact. I wanted to visualise this through the late glow of summer evenings, golden hour, where everything is washed over with a warm dream-like haze. Nostalgia can sometimes be seen as a device to cause distraction from the present and an encouragement to live in the past, but I like to explore it in way to remind you that there has been goodness and warmth before, meaning there is only more to come.”
