“For me my paintings are primarily an exploration into colour and form. I like to use combinations of layered block colours to form my figures, often sculptural like. I work in both oils and acrylics. I increasingly paint people and animals within both real and imagined landscapes. My work is informed by memories that have stayed with me. I like to revisit places through these remembered moments in time by using old images I have taken and new ones I find of people to work from. As a queer woman, I am aware that my paintings are infused with a need to represent and make images of women, that are celebratory of our place in nature.”
