“‘Paint the light and air around the subject—paint the mystery.’ N.C. Wyeth – father of Andrew Wyeth Over many years I’ve come to believe that painting is one of the very few forms that is capable of embodying/communicating the most profound states. Mystery is often thought of as vague, unclear, blurred, but it’s as clear as the frosted air. It’s we who are vague. The Buddhists say form is space and space is form. Science now tells us that there are no things, only light, space, process, phenomena, fields, vibration and maybe consciousness. So whatever you see when looking at my work, I’m trying to express my wonder at the beauty and poetry of existence in the simplest way I can.”
