“Pepsi on the Technicolour Sofa, is the second painting in my series of dogs on this sofa. The Victoria Weymouth fabric is so vibrant and colourful, it makes a wonderful background to a painting. The painting is of Pepsi, my mother’s dog. Pepsi adores only one person in my family which is my mother – I set up the composition of the picture by photographing Pepsi with my mother sitting next to her; I then cropped her out and just captured Pepsi’s look of pure devotion.”
