“I think I am rather old-school when it comes to my art. I have been drawn to traditional arts since I was little, especially traditional oriental arts. I found a sense of belonging within it that calms me dearly.

I don’t think that emotions and ideas can only be expressed through art in a certain way. It is easy to use aggressive strokes and splashes of paint to show emotions, but that doesn’t bring me joy or anything. Instead, I love the process of preparing paint in the old-school way, painting the goldfish with care and patience.”
