Clare Thatcher is a painter living and working in Bristol, UK. She paints landscape features inspired by locations that have had a profound effect on her with a particular focus on tidal and coastal areas. Clare studied drawing and painting at the University of the West of England and Bath Spa University. Where she developed her landscape works taking influence from the idea of liminal space and organic forms in the natural world. A figurative artist, Clare produces soft-hued, multi-textural scenes that capture the ever-changing nature of landscapes and translate the intense, visceral experience of natural wonders. Her paintings have been exhibited worldwide, most notably as a Prize winner in the London Sunny Art Prize, Sunny Art Centre, London (2022) and a finalist in John Moores Painting Prize Exhibition, Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool (2018). Her works are held in private collections in the UK, USA and Switzerland.
