Lucille Dweck

London born painter from Egyptian Jewish family, Lucille Dweck predominantly creates images of the natural world and Portraits Principally people, light, nature and reflections. Her paintings explore the magical/spiritual aspects of her subjects.
Educated at St Martins and Byam Shaw where she worked mostly from direct observation and went on to teach.
Growing up feeling unheard as a young woman, led her to paint to voice feelings. In earlier paintings she explored her relationships and this developed to the more characteristic later work with people/water/light. Throughout her work Lucille is always careful to maintain respect for the materiality of the paint and marks.
Her career includes being Artist in Residence at The London Hospital. She has exhibited widely from Peterborough Museum, Mall Galleries, International exhibitions including Sao Paulo, Brazil, Lucca,Italy ,BIALE, Portugal , to Art on the London Underground, and won several art competitions , including an honourable mention at the BIALE 2023, Teravanna Landscape exhibition 2023 The Refresh Art Awards in 2019 and My Art Space NYAXE Gallery. A member of the Riverside Artist Group which she regularly exhibits with. Her work can be found in many private collections and has a backlog of (mainly portrait) commissions.
