Michael Morris

Michael Morris is an artist based in Birmingham who has taught art for over 30 years. He has exhibited with a group of artists for over 15 of these years. He works predominately in paint, using appropriation of images to create new personal narratives that have an emotional charge. Frequently, Morris creates a mystical ambience within his work, relying on his love of the fluidity of the paint and the interest created on the surface of the canvas. The work has a very direct and swift quality which suits his personality. Many of his paintings are ambiguous, allowing the viewer to interpret the artist’s intentions.
