Simon Gazzard
I am a landscape painter living in Muswell Hill, North London. I love painting the parkland, heaths and woods near my home and my paintings often contain London’s unique mix of nature, architecture and people. I paint in oils, with a vigorous and expressive style that tries to capture the feelings of freedom and energy of living in London. After twenty years of practising as an architect, I committed to becoming a painter in 2022. In 2024, I held solo exhibitions of my paintings in Burgh House, Hampstead and Lauderdale House, Highgate. I was longlisted for the Jackson’s Art Prize and my paintings were selected for the Royal Academy Summer Show and the ING Discerning Eye. I was also selected for participation in the television series Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year 2024, which went on TV in January 2025. My next exhibition will be in the Spring Battersea Affordable Art Fair, where I will be showing with Tripod Gallery. Finally, I have really enjoyed being part of Jackson’s plein air group and hope to continue painting with them in the future.
